Ingredients
- 6 cups water
- zest and juice of one lemon
- 4 bosc pears (or Anjou or Bartlett)
- 2 tsp vanilla extract or 1 vanilla bean
- 3 cups sugar
Method
- Add water to a 4 qt pot
- Add lemon zest and juice to water
- Scoop seeds out of pears
- Peel and add to water as done
- Add sugar to water
- Simmer for ~20–25 minutes, until tender
- Store pears covered in syrup in the fridge
Serve
- Serve with chocolate sauce and/or ice cream
