• 6 lemons
  • 5 cups cold water
  • 12 cup white sugar



  • Wash lemons (scrub under hot water)
  • Use a vegetable peeler to peel off lemon zest in strips from one end to the other
  • Transfer zest to a small mixing bowl and add sugar
  • Mix together then cover and let sit for 2–12 hours

Make Lemonade

  • Bring water to a boil
  • Transfer in the lemon zest & sugar mixture
  • Mix and let sit for ~5 minutes
  • Strain into a mixing bowl and discard the zest
  • When cool, squeeze lemon juice into the extracted lemon and sugar
  • Serve cold
