Ingredients
- 6 lemons
- 5 cups cold water
- 1⁄2 cup white sugar
Method
Prep
- Wash lemons (scrub under hot water)
- Use a vegetable peeler to peel off lemon zest in strips from one end to the other
- Transfer zest to a small mixing bowl and add sugar
- Mix together then cover and let sit for 2–12 hours
Make Lemonade
- Bring water to a boil
- Transfer in the lemon zest & sugar mixture
- Mix and let sit for ~5 minutes
- Strain into a mixing bowl and discard the zest
- When cool, squeeze lemon juice into the extracted lemon and sugar
- Serve cold
