Hash Browns


  • 1 medium russet potato
  • 112 tsp unsalted butter
  • salt, pepper, cayenne, etc


  • Peel and wash the potato
  • Grate the potato onto some cheesecloth
  • Use the cheesecloth to wring as much water out of the potatoes as possible
  • Heat a nonstick skillet with the butter
  • Add the grated potato and season it
  • Let it get crusty and then flip and fold the crusty part back in
  • Repeat until hash browns are perfect
