Ingredients
- Tart Crust
- 1⁄4 cup unsalted butter
- 1⁄2 cup brown sugar
- 1 egg
- 1⁄2 cup maple syrup
- 1⁄4 tsp kosher salt
- 1⁄8 tsp nutmeg
- 1⁄8 tsp cinnamon
- rum
- 1 shake cayenne?
- 1 splash vanilla extract?
- orange/lemon/vinegar?
Method
Prep
- Make the crust and blind bake
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or foil
Make the tarts
- In a medium mixing bowl
- Cream the butter and sugar
- Whisk in the egg
- Whisk in the syrup and flavorings until smooth
- Place tart pans on the baking sheet
- Add filling to tart shells until almost full
- Bake at 425°F for 13–15 minutes
