Ingredients
- 3 ounces unsweetened chocolate, chopped
- 1⁄2 cup unsalted butter
- 2 large eggs
- 11⁄4 cups white sugar
- 3⁄4 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- 2⁄3 cup all-purpose flour
Method
Prep
- Butter an 8"x8" baking dish and optionally line with parchment paper
- Chop the chocolate
Make the batter
- Melt the butter and chocolate over a pan with barely simmering water
- when it's about 80% melted, stir together until smooth
- In a medium mixing bowl using an electric hand mixer
- Add the eggs, sugar, salt and vanilla extract and whisk until ribbon stage
- Add the chocolate and whisk on high speed for a few minutes
- Add the flour and whisk on low speed until the flour just disappears
- Transfer into the prepared baking dish and smooth out the top
Bake
- Bake at 350F for about 35 minutes
- a toothpick 2" from the edge should come out clean
- Wait until completely cool before cutting
